Okay, in the Declaration, I count at least two times in, like, one paragraph that it states that we shouldn't kill babies. What a weird and pointless controversy: to kill innocent babies or not to kill innocent babies? That is the question. Kind of a dumb question, huh? Because according to the Declaration of Independence, we hold these truths to be self-evident, which means there should be absolutely no question whatsoever.
So, we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. Notice it says "created" equal and not "born" equal. When are we created? If anyone has the gall and stubborn bullheadedness to tell me we are created when we're born... I don't even know what that means for America, but it's not good.
...that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, and that among these rights are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Okay, that is a huge indicator. Unalienable: "not to be separated, given away, or taken away". No matter what. Life? Um, duh. Obviously abortion takes away the life of the baby. Did you know it sometimes kills the mother, too? And if life is taken, the other rights are as well.
"After 1973, legalization of abortion led to an approximately tenfold increase in the total number of abortions, though there is some dispute over the prelegalization statistics" is an excerpt from wikipedia.org. So anyone who says legalizing abortion would decrease it is absolutely wrong. Plus, surrendering enough to just let it go is almost as bad as surrendering enough to kill the baby and not try to save both the mother and the baby. What I'm saying is that if something is WRONG, legalizing it is complete and utter idiocy. The principle of something being wrong is that it's wrong, AKA not legal.
So. Abortion is wrong. 51% of America is pro-choice. An ever-climbing 49% now disapprove of Obama, according to Rasmussen Reports. Let's hear it for common sense, people!!! Let's hear it for "baby-huggers" (awwww, sooo cute!). Let's hear it for America, the way it was meant to be!
