The Future Is Coming

Today is my sister's tenth birthday. It makes me think of what kind of world we are growing up in. I don't want her to grow up in a socialist-communist regime. I don't want her to watch her grandmother die because our healthcare system has a "priority curve" that it must maintain. I don't want her to grow up and be loaded with the debt of the past. I don't want her to live in a society where life is subject to change or termination according to whim, under the pretense of working for the common good. I don't want her to fear terrorists or her government (and I want her to be able to tell the difference).

So happy birthday, Grace. The future is coming, and I wish us all well.

  1. well, if Americans continue to stand up to the radical liberal ideals, like they have with health care, your sister (and you) will have a great America to live in after all!

  2. Sarah- I came to find you since you are now a follower of my husband's blog. I am in utter shock at your ability to write such thought provoking blogs, but even more so, the fact that you are just about to enter EIGHTH GRADE! How is it possible for a child to be so well-informed?!?! I am going to give props to you and your parents for taking the time to educate yourself about what is really happening in this country. I am a teacher in Los Angeles, and let me tell you, I am the minority in my opinions. It kills me everyday to see kind, well-educated people be so blind to our popular president's lies. Good for you, Sarah! I see a future in politics in store for you, and I can't wait!

  3. Thanks, Kristi. Let me congratulate you on being the first non-family-or-friend follower to my blog (hurray!). I appreciate your comment and thanks a lot again!

MDP, you're right. I hope Americans will keep being, um... American. If they do, me, my sister, and all other Americans will live in an America we can be proud of.
